REASONS TO DO ST. KITTS & NEVIS FLAG DOCUMENTATIONS

Saint Kitts and Nevis are the dual-island countries in West Indies located in both; the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Sea. St. Kitts & Nevis’s flag comes under easy and fast registration of the vessels, boarding a ship under this flag has many benefits, want to know why? Let me tell you:

Adopting another country flag has undeniable benefits. Ship owners do it to avoid paying taxes; some does for not facing and coming under the strict rules and regulations given by their own countries or avoid labour laws. Although merchant ships need to register in a national shipping registry, owners have the freedom to choose when it comes to selecting which country. So, operating an open registry/ Flag of convenience (FOC) (one that does not require nationality or residency in that country); is not illegal.

Based on an IMO Model Shipping Act and gain experience of other Open Registries in the Caribbean area, the St. Kitts and Nevis International Ship Registry were established; managed out of London England; London because it had historical connections to the Federation. In this way, the St. Kitts & Nevis International Ship Registry can both offer its services to ship owners worldwide, but also maintain daily contact with the Department of Maritime Affairs in Basseterre, which is the capital of St. Kitts & Nevis.

A Seafarer requiring a Certificate of Endorsement (COE) or a Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC) from St Kitts and Nevis International Ship Registry (SKANReg), shall apply as below:
